Wearable Fashion Trends 2019

ss19 neutral outfits

The new season is upon us, and that means new season clothes are trickling into stores. We can already see the new trends around and thankfully, most are easily wearable. The Pantone color of the year is Living Coral, which is a vibrant pinkish orange color, very wearable and flattering on many skin tones.

Neutral tones

It’s all about fifty shades of beige in this year’s fashion. Thankfully neutral tones are very wearable and can easily look classy for work or casually. We will definitely see more people embrace these colors more than any other trend I believe. You can wear a monochromatic look, with just different shades of beige and textures if you feel you will look bland to wear just the one colour.

Bold Colors

Bold colors in tailoring are a great way to dress up an outfit. The blues, reds, pinks and especially yellows are definitely a welcome color palette for me, I love me a bold blazer and jeans outfit. Yellow is definitely the color to have, for me, and it flatters my skin tone so much, I love it! The Pantone color of the year is living coral which is vibrant pinkish red color, so expect all the standout colors this year!

Boiler Suits

These are being called named the ‘it’ item of the season. A lot of brands have shown them on the runway, in many different colors and I’m eager to get my hands on one. They just seem like a no fuss outfit, easy to style with heels or even sneakers or loafers.

Bows

Oh my heart! I love bows , they speak to the inner girl in me. Big bows on blouses , on dresses, skirts and as hair accessories are a sure way of making your outfit more feminine. If you don’t want buy clothes with bows you can just add a bow accessory to whatever item you are wearing, like tie a twill in a bow shape around your blouse collar to elevate the look.

Biker Shorts

These have been here since 2018 and they seem to be staying, and to be honest they may be growing on me. I haven’t bought a pair yet, but I’m gonna try one and maybe style it differently. You can wear them to the gym if you don’t want to wear them out and about.

Tie Dye

This reminds me of school days when we died clothes for art class, and I definitely didn’t like it. I will be on the look out for a tastefully done item, but I’m not holding my breath. I think it’s best to try this in small doses, perhaps a t-shirt, because I don’t know for how long they will be okay to wear.

What trends are you loving or eager to try?
